First Annual Mercer Mountain Bike Festival
Sep 11, 2009 -- Hopewell Township, NJ. -- The First Annual Mercer Mountain Bike Festival will be held on
October 31, 2009 at Belle Mountain located off of Route 29 in Hopewell Township (Mercer County) NJ.
The Festival will include food, music, a cycling industry expo, how- to -ride clinics and Halloween activities for families. Races will be open to licensed and non- licensed riders.
"We are pleased to welcome the Mercer Mountain Bike Festival," said Brian M. Hughes, Mercer County Executive. "Events such as The Mountain Bike Festival presented by Knapp's make great contributions to health awareness and fitness in Mercer County. Mercer County has long been interested in using the former ski area for other recreational activities and the Mountain Bike Festival is a perfect fit."
Pete Garnich, owner of Knapp's, located in Lawrenceville, NJ, an avid Mountain Bike enthusiast himself " My wife Stephanie and I ride our mountain bikes at Belle Mountain. The whole area is great for mountain biking from beginners to the more experienced riders. We're excited about the event and are looking forward to make it bigger every year."
